Garbanzo Bean 17 years old

We took Garbanzo in from Animal Care and Control when he was 15. The first thing our vet said was “This little boy is not 15!” We thought maybe we had an imposter, but the second thing out of the vet’s mouth was “He is at least 17 years old!”  He was so skinny, sick, and scared when we brought him home.  It was a pleasure to watch him thrive in the short time he was with us.  Garbanzo was a character! He had the cutest “old man” walk, and he loved food more than anything.  He loved going for walks, although he was much better at sniffing every blade of grass than he was at actually walking. But at his age we felt he earned doing whatever he wanted during walk time.

We were so happy to share the last 3 months of his life with him.  To show him that he was loved unconditionally, that he did not need to be afraid if he had an accident in the house, that he deserved a warm bed and great food.   Garbanzo must have missed Chili Bean because he passed within 11 hours of him on 2/23. I can see them now causing a ruckus on the other side of the rainbow bridge. We love you forever Garbanzo.
