Laundry Room Lucy - 14 years old

Lucy AKA: Laundry Room Lucy or Lucyfur! Lucy comes from the same home as Shady Sadie and Dust Buster.  We were not planning on taking her, but her human could not take care of her.  All of her brothers and sisters had moved on to new homes, but Lucy was still there.  We could not let her go to straight to animal care and control.  Besides, her and Sadie were close according to their human.  We took the plunge and brought her into the family. 

It was not easy for Lucy at first.  She spent the entire first month living in the laundry room.  She would not come out, and I often found her in the corner as far back as she could get. She would sneak out to go to the bathroom, but when I got up to open the door she would run back into the laundry room.  I would have to leave the back door open and hide so she would go outside! This is why she earned her name Laundry Room Lucy. It took lots of patience and love, (and hiding in the bedroom so she would go outside) but she finally came out of the laundry room, and little by little started spending time with her new family.  

The Lucyfur name came after she tore down and ruined the front blinds so she could warn me there was a killer squirrel in the yard.  She hates (but loves) everyone who comes in the house and will bark like a watchdog... little do they know she is just afraid of everyone and everything. Once she gets to know you she is a love bug.  We are working on her self esteem and building up her confidence.  She really is a sweet girl who is loving life with her new family.
