Gigi - 13 Years Old

Gigi, or as we like to call her, Gigi Parcheesi, is pretty young for Mr. Jojo's Rescue at only 10 years old. Let us explain... She is part of our bigger picture. Our goal is to move into the therapy dog area so we can help those in Hospice or the hospital. We needed a dog that would be a good candidate since all of our residents are either blind, deaf, cranky due to acute arthritis, or generally misbehaved....Oh, we mean not a good fit for the program! We know terriers are wicked smart, and good with all types of humans and animals. Gigi is also hypoallergenic. She needed a home and we decided to go for it. Her big issue (no pun intended) is that she was severely overweight. We have been working hard to lose weight. She has done a great job, dropping almost 6 pounds. Good thing she loves her walks almost as much as she loves her food. She is a sweetheart of a girl. Her career as a therapy dog may take more time....a lot more time than we thought. She is very food driven which causes issues at times. She is also used to doing anything she wants at any time. We can't blame her, she has been that way for 10 years. We are working with a trainer so that someday Gigi can be our therapy dog star. If it doesn't work out, we don't care because this sweet senior has found a home with us!
