Mogwai - 15 Years Old

Mogwai (if you have seen the 1984 movie Gremlins, you may know why we gave her this name) isn't supposed to be here. She was confiscated from a backyard after years of neglect and abuse. She ended up at a county shelter where she was on schedule to be euthanized due to her age and severe condition. When the last call went out for rescue we had to help. Poor girl looked like Cousin Itt from the Addams Family. She was full of fleas, ticks, and one big ball of matted fur. Once she was shaved down they realized she was half the weight she was supposed to be for her size. She looked like a dog from those sad Sarah McLachlan commercials! Well, that was in November, 2016. Look at her now. She is at a good weight, loves to go for long walks, and just wants to be loved. Don't be fooled by her sweet face, she is a work in progress. We are working with a trainer on some of Mogwai's behaviors. We work with this girl everyday on her social skills because she has no idea what it is like to be a dog, or part of a pack. To make matters more fun, she is deaf! We have taught her a bit of sign language which seems to be working. Mogwai is smart, stubborn, funny, and beautiful!
